What was county thinking on lawsuit?

I scan a number of North Idaho newspapers often looking for interesting items for a column I write for a weekly St. Maries newspaper.
An item in an Aug. 8 Daily Bee on the county budget begs the question: What on earth were the cash-strapped Bonner County commissioners thinking when they set aside $250,000 as an initial payment to a California law firm to pursue a lawsuit against the SilverWing development at the Sandpoint Airport?
The record of inviting SilverWing and approving their permits has to leave anyone with common sense scratching their heads.
