LPOSD levy's approval hurting county's poor

To all our county voters who approved the Lake Pend Oreille School District supplemental levy, I hope and pray that you are all happy.

You have raised homeowners’ taxes and our cost of rent. Our landlord just informed me he needs to raise our rent to meet his needs. I’m fighting now to maintain my own needs with the loss of my husband. Bills, groceries, etc. don’t leave anything extra for much. While I’m being taxed right our of our home, my youngest daughter, who is a single parent, and her son, live with me. She tries to help out but has her own bills, plus raising her son. We lost our last home while waiting on VA benefits for five months, and no way to pay our mortgage payments.

Now we’re going through this hell again. To all you whiners and sniffers who voted for the sake of our children and who voted yes, we say thanks from this widow, daughter, grandson and little pet dog. We don’t have the luxury of owning our own home.
