Money better spent on schools instead of guns

Several years ago, our county commissioners spent millions of dollars (taxpayer dollars) to build a kiddy jail. Seems I keep hearing of studies that indicate that early child intervention, school and teachers can dramatically reduce the need for jails. With some of our county leadership’s disdain for education and its preference for incarceration, along with our police promoting guns and then trying to protect themselves with expensive armored cars from those guns.
Bonner County is becoming an uneducated, gun-toting war zone. Think of how many classrooms and teachers we might have if the money spent on police and jails were spent on positive things like education.
