Scout, family thank community for help

| April 18, 2013 7:00 AM

I would like to extend a huge thank you to family, friends, and the community in supporting my son, Tyler Sears, in helping him on his journey to earn his way to the Boy Scout National Jamboree camp. The camp is two weeks in West Virginia in July where 40,000 scouts are expected to attend. Tyler and another scout from Cocolalla are the only ones from North Idaho attending.

Tyler has sold wood, candy bars, cookie dough, pizza cards, and Scout-o-Rama cards. Thank you to residents from Coeur d’Alene to Bonners Ferry and even Spokane! Thanks to fellow shooters at the Bonner County Sportsman’s Association, Cole’s Automotive, White Pine Cafe, and Papa Murphy’s. Thank you to the Jamboree scoutmasters, Bruce for donating the wood and Paul for fundraising efforts. They are amazing!

While selling door to door in Hayden, he met some inspirational people. Thank you to the gentleman on Skylark who shook his hand and spent some time visiting! Thank you to the family who all came to the door to buy candy! Thank you to the firefighter named Joseph who bought five cards! Thank you to those who decline graciously, it keeps him motivated! If you happen to cross paths with Tyler before July, thank you! I am sure he will be inspired by more people.

Thanks to Austin and Colette for taking him to the informational meeting to go to the jamboree!

We are greatly appreciative to everyone!
