Currie, Cooke pace Bulldog golfers in Pullman
PULLMAN, Wash. — David Currie shot 84 and Christian Cooke 90, but once again putting woes plagued the Bulldog boys, who finished 18th out of 24 teams on Thursday at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman.
The ball striking has been fine for the Bulldogs, but the short game, where the scores are made, is keeping the team score higher than it will need to be to catch Lakeland at districts.
“It seems like the problem this week was three putts,” said Sandpoint head coach Tom Tharp. “They were hitting the ball well, but the greens were slick. Once we start putting better, the scores will come down.”
The Bulldogs are at the Coeur d’Alene Invitational on Monday at Avondale.
