Reeves brothers shine in junior golf opener

| April 23, 2013 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — A pair of local golfers kicked off the 2013 golf season in style, winning their divisions at the Junior Golf Northwest tournament last weekend at the Creek at Qualchan in Spokane.

Battling cold and windy conditions, Sandpoint’s Will Reeves carded an 81 to win the boys 10-12 year-old division by a whopping seven strokes.

Older brother Jack Reeves was equally impressive, shooting a 77 to win the 13-15 year-old division by three strokes. Both rounds were surprisingly low for this early in the golf season.

Junior Golf Northwest offers competitive junior golf tournaments for children ages 10-18. The next event is May 4 at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.
