Alamillo wins discus at Inland Empire League meet

COEUR d’ALENE — Nikole Alamillo threw a season-best 122-5 in the discus, winning the event by more than 12 feet on Friday to lead the Bulldogs at the Inland Empire League track championships at Lake City High School.

Alamillo was also third in the shot put, Lani Wahl was second in both the long jump and triple jump, and Cassie Young (discus), Madi Suppiger (high jump), Mikhaela Woodward (3,200) and Lily DeAragon (400) each finished third to lead the Bulldog girls, who finished fourth among seven teams.

Tim Prummer was second in the 400 to lead the Bulldog boys, who also finished second in the 4x400 and sprint medley relays to finish fifth. Chase Rodriguez soared a season-high 21-1 to finish third in the long jump, Josh Loutzenhiser was third in the shot put and Sam Levora got some speed work in by finishing third in the 800 for the Bulldog boys.

A host of meet records fell, including former Bulldog Desi Hutchings’s 2008 record in the 400.

Select Bulldogs will be in action on Thursday at the All-Star meet in Post Falls.
