SMS announces 2013 fall sports dates and meetings

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Middle School sports seasons will begin with the start of school after Labor Day.

There will be meetings on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the gym for volleyball and cross country. On Thursday, there will be meetings for intramural golf and tennis at 2:30.

All paperwork for eligibility will be handed out at this time and must be completed by a parent or guardian, signed by both the athlete and the parent/guardian and returned to the coach in charge of the program. Please do not bring paperwork to the office.

The following must be completed before an individual may participate in any practices: A copy of a recent sports physical (students entering 7th grade must have had a physical dated after May 1, 2013, to be accepted); proof of medical insurance; and an ASB card, which can be purchased in the SMS office during regular hours.

Once the seasons begin, a “C” average in all classes must be maintained to stay eligible.
