Elks Golf Course team grabs lead at Thursday league

SANDPOINT — A monster week vaulted the Elks Golf Course team into the lead at the Thursday Night Men’s Golf League. The Elks team posted a whopping 28.5 points, almost unheard of in the popular summer league, to grab an eight point lead.

Local golfer Tye Barlow used a buttery smooth swing to win closest to the pin second shot, and also drained the longest putt.

Only three weeks remain, with half a dozen teams still within striking distance of the championship.
