Locals fare well at Priest Lake Triathlon
PRIEST LAKE — A host of local triathletes notched top 10 finishes last weekend at the Priest Lake Triathlon.
Leading the way was Jameson Longanecker (bike), Payton Bokowy (swim) and John Harding (run), who joined forces to win the team race in the Olympic Distance event (1.5 K swim, 40 K bike and 10 K run). The team’s name was PB and the J’s, and they plan to defend their title next year.
Suzanne Kaplan clocked a 2:16.50 to finish third overall among 87 female finishers, Georgia Steenberge was fifth (2:18.58) and Jodi McCray was 10th (2:24.41) to round out the local top 10 placers.
Steven Tyson, who is training for Ironman Hawaii, finished sixth overall among the men with a time of 2:05.53, while Doug Lieuallen was eighth among 139 male finishers with a time of 2:09.51.
