If they could, GOP would cut VA budget

| December 12, 2013 6:00 AM

John Corn (in his response to my letter where I said that the “GOP/tea party is no friend of the veteran”) wrote: “One also has to wonder where Lee Santa gets the idea that the Republicans cut the VA budget “significantly.” I never said that.

This is what I said John: “… if the GOP/tea party had its way, the funding for the VA would be cut back significantly.” I stand by those words because they happen to be true.

What keeps the GOP/tea party from having its way and cutting the VA budget “significantly” is the fact that it would be political suicide because those veterans who vote GOP/tea party would finally see that the GOP/tea party is no friend of the veteran.

So rather than losing those veterans who vote against their own best interest by voting for the GOP/tea party, the GOP/tea party continues to slide under the radar by doing nothing for the VA when in power.

Part of the problem is the GOP/tea party hates the Veterans Administration health care system because it a shining example of socialized medicine, and we all know what the GOP/tea party thinks of socialized medicine.

I have been with the VA health care system for several years now and it has treated me quite well.

Since you are a veteran John, I would like to thank you for your service to our country, however, if you want to continue spitting on yourself by voting GOP/tea party that is your business.
