Despite adversity, there is much to be grateful for
Life has been throwing curve balls at me and apparently I have not learned to duck.
In spite of some adversity in life, I have a great deal to feel thankful for.
I am thankful for the 14 beautiful years I had with the love of my life. I lost Everett to pancreatic cancer in September. He was my heart, my rock, my reason for living. I am so grateful to have known him.
Two months later, our home burned to the ground, taking more of my love with it.
Our three beautiful dogs and six precious cats perished. Everything in the house was lost.
I am so thankful for the Sagle Fire District These guys are awesome. All of them are kind and caring souls. Their quick response probably saved my life.
I am thankful for my neighbor, Roger, who rescued me from my back yard and that saved me from an exploding propane tank.
I am thankful for my neighbors, the Hartmans, who took me in or I would have been a street person with nowhere to go. May God bless them.
I am thankful for all the many fire departments which showed up to lend a hand.
I am so thankful for the fabulous guys in the ambulance for their tender care.
I am thankful to the various charities for their help in obtaining clothing and other necessary items. What great work they do.
I am thankful to the people like Doug from Cocolalla and his lovely wife, who reached out to help me. What wonderful people.
I am thankful for all the people who left clothing and necessities for me at the fire house. I don’t know who you are but you have a special place in my heart.
I am thankful for a young man who came to the hospital bearing gifts. I will always remember you.
I have a constant pain in my heart but here I am, with so much to be thankful for on this cold Thanksgiving Day.
