We are no longer the land of the free

| December 26, 2013 6:00 AM

Day by day, our freedoms are being eroded.

It is legal to teach creation in schools, but schools are so afraid of being sued, they won’t allow it. Professors have lost their positions and have been blackballed from teaching elsewhere for upholding creation. If we speak out about what God has said is sin, that’s “hate speech.”

The recall movement against school board member Steven Youngdahl is frivolous and ridiculous. Because of his suggesting area schools should consider training and arming school personnel, progressive liberals are trying to silence him. I don’t know Mr. Youngdal and, whether or not I may agree with him, I support his right of free speech.

Uwe and Hannalore Romeike, German citizens and Christians, didn’t like what schools there were teaching and began home schooling. In Germany it’s against the law to home school. The government can take away one’s children and put the parents in jail. In 2009, the Romeikes fled to America, “the land of the free and the home of the brave,” for religious freedom. Ever since then Eric Holder and the Department of “Injustice” (no longer “Justice”), have been trying to deport them. In the meantime, Holder wants to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and give them lots of perks.

Isn’t it interesting that Hitler said, “Give me a child until he is five, and I will have him for life?”

We’re no longer “the land of the free,” and too many are not “brave” enough to speak up because of fear of reprisals.
