Jazz for Cats 2 was a 'purrfect' success

| February 17, 2013 6:00 AM

A heartfelt thanks to all who came out to support Jazz for Cats 2 at DiLuna’s Cafe on Groundhog Day. Our Kitty Litterature poets and writers were well-received and the piano jazz by Bill Reid was “purr-fect.” We raised $435 for the Panhandle Animal Shelter’s Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Fund. That’s enough to fix a lot of kitties living on the streets of Sandpoint!

We especially are grateful for the generosity of DiLuna’s, Bill Reid, and creative genius Donna Brosh at Mountain Sky Printing. Prizes for our kitty costume contest were won by Ellen Weissman, Fiddlin’ Red Simpson, and Desire Aguirre, who were just too cute and cleverly dressed to beat. They are now happily enjoying yummy chocolates from Great Stuff and wine from Pend d’Oreille Winery — gifts from two wonderful and supportive businesses in the community.
