Is it time for property owners to revolt?
In response to the letter (Feb. 17, Daily Bee) concerning the March 12 levy — a clarification, please. This mere $228 per year amount (example, on a house valued at $200,000) is paid not just by “taxpayers,” but more specifically by property owners alone.
If this is such an important levy, then it should be shared by all of the taxpayers in the county. I am quite sure that the people who rent have children as well and should be included in this investment. Why is it always solely the burden of the property owner?
As the writer stated, this will help pay for extracurricular activities. Paying for cheerleader trips is not something I think is a good use of my hard-earned income. How do you other property owners feel?
