Spayth leads Thunder boys to pair of wins

SANDPOINT — The Kootenai Thunder boys team, led by head coach Joel Aispuro and assistant Mike Prophet, traveled to Pullman to down the Eagles 54-42 recently in Mountain Christian League action.

Andrew Spayth continues to be a force, posting 23 points, 23 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Thunder. Curtis Roop added 11 points and three assists, Justin Puryear with six points; Jason Roop six points, four rebounds and three assists, Taylor Jensen four points and four rebounds, Shayne Jensen four rebounds, three assists and two blocks and Joel Crosby two points.

Spayth had another monster game in a 56-25 dispatching of House of Lord, dropping in a game-high 32 points to go with 26 rebounds, eight assists, six blocks and one emphatic dunk. Shayne Jensen scored eight to go with four steals and blocks, Justin Puryear added five points and 11 rebounds, Curtis Roop five points, Jason Roop four assists and Jake Maynard Joel Smith with two points each. 

The Kootenai Thunder girls, led by head coach Mel Jensen and assistant Nikki Jensen, were also in action, falling 49-32 to Pullman. Leading the Thunder was Carly Johnson with 14 points and six boards, Joyce Blair with 13 points, Taryn Osman four points and seven rebounds and Hali Aller with a point.

The Thunder followed that game with a 29-20 win over House of Lord, as Johnson posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Taryn Osman added eight points, Joyce Blair six points and five steals, Tessa Murray four points and 12 boards and Hali Aller with eight steals and seven assists.
