Vogel, Heigis lead Cats to win

CLARK FORK — Senior Tessa Vogel had 15 points and three assists to lead the Wampus Cats past the Warriors in a North Star League game on Tuesday night at Clark Fork High School.

Alicia Heigis led the Wampus Cats (7-11, 4-2) in rebounding for the second straight game, pulling down 11 boards to go with six points, while Annie Wurm added 10 points and five steals for the Cats.

“The girls came out with much better intensity that we did at Lakeside,” said Cats head coach Dexter Vogel. “We moved the ball pretty well, and shot the ball better.”

Mariah Miller also grabbed five steals for the Cats.

Ellison Schultz, Katey Mae McInturff and Emily Martin scored nine points each for Kootenai (2-18, 0-8), which faces either Mullan or Clark Fork in the opening round of the 1A District 1 Division II tournament on Monday at 6 p.m. at Lake City High.

Clark Fork hosts Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.
