Selkirk Cougar Club picnic on tap Saturday

| July 16, 2013 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Washington State University athletic program has a popular campaign encouraging fans to “waive their flag” in a show of school pride.

There figures to be plenty of crimson and gray flags waiving this weekend, when the Selkirk Cougar Club hosts a fundraising picnic on Saturday, July 20, from 2-6 p.m. in Dover.

Cost of the picnic is $35 per couple, or $22 for single, with all proceeds benefiting the Cougar Athletic Fund. You don’t have to be a Cougar alumni to attend, just a fan of program.

RSVP to Jessica Gudgel at (509) 358-7572 to pay for the picnic tickets and RSVP to Rich Faletto at (208) 255-9550 for a head count. Directions will be provided upon RSVP.

• Football bus trips offered from Sandpoint to Pullman

For area Washington State fans, there is nothing better than waving the flag in person at a Cougar home football game. The Selkirk Cougar Club’s goal is to make it easy, convenient and most importantly fun.

Buses will be available for the University of Idaho game on Sept. 21 and the Oregon State University game on Oct. 12.

Bus tickets (no game ticket included) will be a flat $40 rate for roundtrip transportation. To reserve your spot on the bus please call Jessica Gudgel at (509) 358-7572.

The bus will load at Sandpoint Title roughly five hours prior to kick off, which includes a three hour commute and two hour pre-game function.
