Coon's response is professional, prompt

Sandpoint Police Department, the other side:

My letter addressing my feelings about the unprofessional conduct of some Sandpoint officers was published on Sunday, May 19, in the Daily Bee.

On Monday, May 20, I was extremely surprised to receive a call from Sandpoint Police Chief Corey Coon.

The chief was genuinely interested in discussing the events noted in my letter and addressing any issues raised by me. He stated he will review the incidents and take steps to address any training or other issues that may be revealed by his review.

I was impressed by the chief’s professional approach to my comments and concerns and I believe if he discovers internal problems the will be addressed.

I know for a fact that his is one of the hardest jobs in law enforcement and I have a feeling he will do it well. Thanks for the call, chief.
