Sagle wins Clark Fork Elementary Invite

| June 4, 2013 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — If only there was a way to harness the energy filling the air during the 3rd Annual Clark Fork Elementary Invite track and field meet on Friday.

More than 400 students from 3rd through 6th grade took part in the event, which included the 50, 100, 200, 4x100 relay, softball throw and long jump.

Sagle Elementary School took down two-time defending champion Washington for the overall team title, as Hope, Farmin-Stidwell, Northside, Southside and Kootenai elementary schools were also represented in the popular one-day meet.

Area youth got to experience the thrill of competing in front of bleachers full of screaming classmates, teachers and parents alike. Most importantly, a good time was had by all under sunny skies.

“There’s no losers,” said co-meet director Frank Hammersley. “They’re all winners, because they’re getting the experience.”
