Sandpoint Sr. Center needs your help

The Sandpoint Senior Center needs your help. At the present time the 24,000 meals per year we are now serving to Bonner County seniors is costing $7.25 a meal without administrative costs. We receive less than that from the two government agencies which are providing money for most of these meals. Because of this, we are now operating at an approximate $1,000 a month loss.

In order to stay open, the board of directors must find a solution to this shortfall.

Options being considered include the following: Continue raising the price of meals to seniors, closing the center to only four days a week, increase donations or obtaining an increase in the contract price for meals we are getting from the two agencies.

The mission of the Sandpoint Senior Center is to provide nutritional meals to all seniors in Bonner County and to serve as a gathering and informational site for social, wellness and recreational programs.

In order to accomplish this, we must have additional funds. Please help us.
