Spokane woman dies in Highway 95 crash
SANDPOINT — A Spokane woman was killed after colliding with another motorist head-on on U.S. Highway 95 in Chilco on Monday, Idaho State Police said.
State police said Mikki Mcgoldrick was driving southbound when her Volvo S70 sedan crossed the center line and crashed into a northbound Dodge pickup truck driven by Teresa L. Valliant, a 58-year-old from Sagle.
Mcgoldrick, 70, died at the scene, according to ISP. Valliant escaped the collision uninjured, ISP said.
Both motorists were wearing seat belts when the crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. near the Chilco Road turnoff.
The crash remains under investigation, state police said.
In a separate accident, and transported to Kootenai Health following a single vehicle accident Monday at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and U.S. 95 in Hayden.
The wreck occurred around 1:50 p.m. when Timothy Tuttle’s 1995 Nissan pickup truck was traveling northbound on U.S. 95, ISP reported.
Tuttle’s vehicle entered the median for unknown reasons, struck the traffic light support pole between the north and southbound lanes, rolled over, and came to rest on the driver’s side door, police reported.
He was listed in serious condition in Kootenai Health’s ICU on Monday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Southbound U.S. 95 and East Lancaster Road traffic was shut down for about two hours after the crash, which remains under investigation, police reported.
