GOP shoots self in foot on rights issue

It never fails to amaze me how the GOP can shot themselves in the foot. The position being taken by the Bonner County GOP is just plain stupid. I have seen some estimates that up to 10 percent of the population could fall somewhere in the GLBT spectrum. The only thing being requested by the GBLT community is basic human rights.

The right not to be discriminated against in either employment or housing. We are not requesting anything special. It simply is the right to be treated like any other individual — 99.9 percent of the GLBT community simply wish to blend in, live our lives, and not be noticed. We are not there to cause a scene or offend sensibilities.

Contrary to the deeply held belief of a diminishing number of people being GLBT is not a lifestyle decision. You do not just wake up some day and decided I will be GLBT.
