What happens when the future arrives?
In Tennessee, every year the mantra was repeated that, “the children are our future” in order to justify increasing the property tax or the sales tax so that more money could be spent for the public school system.
By 2005, Nashvillians in increasing numbers were questioning not only the consistently average results of the school children, but the outsized number of administrators and their compensation.
According to information from the Idaho Department of Education — Public Finance, Bonner County’s levy increases have rarely been less than 5 percent per year, significantly above the rate of general inflation. According to a document from the LPOSD, its 10 highest compensated employees receive more than $1,000,000, which is greater than 30 percent of its projected 2013 reserve fund.
The importance of the levy is who is receiving the most benefit. Please demand better use of the money.
