Red Alert: Soccer season springing to life in Sandpoint

A host of Sandpoint Striker players kicked off the 2013 spring season with the annual Long Bridge run and food drive, making the most of a sunny but crisp March afternoon.

More than 230 players are participating this year for the Strikers, an increase of 14 percent for the second straight season.

Most of the players brought cans of food to the run, which benefits the Bonner Community Food Center.

“The soccer community in Sandpoint all in one spot at one time on a beautiful, sunny day,” said Strikers director Adam Tajan of the highlight.
