| March 6, 2013 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Payton Bokowy dominated the sprints with first place in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle, as well as a second place finish in the 100 individual medley, leading a strong contingent of Sandpoint Sharks at the recent Inland Empire Course Championships, held at the University of Idaho Swim Center in Moscow.

Kate Bokowy (6th in the 100 IM) and Emily Deitz (7th in the 100 free) also scored points for Sandpoint with top 10 finishes.

“The Kids swam very well dropping time in almost all of the swims,” said coach Mike Brosnahan, who also coaches the SHS team. “Payton Bokowy had a very good meet, qualifying in three events for the “big” Age Group Regional meet in Federal Way, Wash. at the end of March.”

Kate Matlosz (13th in the 100 breast) and Kinzie Ward (11th in 50 breast) were also in action, as the Sharks sent just five swimmers.
