More equitable system needed to fund schools

I strongly support a good educational system for Bonner County for many of the reasons stated in the recent advertisement for the levy (paid for by school funds). However, I question why the burden of the levy should be borne only by property owners, many of whom are already being taxed off their properties. I question the argument that levies are reflected in increases for rent for non-property owners.

A more equitable system would have everybody share the burden of the cost of education through a county sales tax, or else limit the vote to property owners, who must pay the taxes. This would end the current practice of representation without taxation enjoyed by non-property owners.
