Support is needed to help schools thrive
Growing up in Sandpoint, I have a lot to be thankful for. A pristine lake, snow-capped mountains, and an incredibly diverse town are just the start of why Sandpoint is a fantastic place to grow up.
As a member of student leadership, I have the opportunity to meet with other school leaders at regional and state conferences. It seems everyone has heard of “that little town north of Coeur d’Alene,” always due to our stellar academics, top athletics, and incredibly supportive community.
Regardless of what I am doing at school, from being the editor-in-chief of the Cedar Post to learning Spanish, I can feel the community support and the impact the levy has on our district. It’s no secret that support is what keeps our schools thriving and successful, and has for years. Everyone has heard about the dollars and cents of this upcoming vote, but on March 12, I please also consider the scholars and sense that would be supported with a “yes” vote.
Whether you’re a parent with kids in the district, a business person looking to hire future graduates, an alumni of Sandpoint schools, or if you’re unsure what to do, take it from me as a junior in the school district — vote yes.
