Our students deserve the best we can give

| March 8, 2013 6:00 AM

Why do we have to vote on a levy for our children to get the best education they can? Should our next generation go without because we do not want to give them the same opportunity we had as students?

As a small business owner, I pay a lot of taxes I don’t agree with, as do most Americans. This is one tax residents should morally pay to prosper in the future.

My son has played football for three years and knows that if you work hard you will be rewarded. Where else will he learn this? If we don’t have extracurricular activities, it will cost us more than we realize.

I have talked with Ann Bagby at Farmin Stidwell and Kim Keaton at Sandpoint Middle School and know they care. They get it, the teachers get it; they are on the front lines, day in and day out.

We now have a five-star school. Do you know what that means? Call the principals, talk to the teachers, ask questions.
