Students, district deserve support

Why should we punish our children because the state doesn’t know how to adequately fund our schools?

Vote “yes” March 12 for your future. We, as taxpayers and parents, need to make sure to give them the education they deserve. Somebody paid for all of our educations, whether through levies or state funding.

People say extracurricular activities are not necessary. They absolutely are. They teach kids how to be part of a team, responsibility to something other than themselves, keeps them physically active in a world of too much TV and video games, and keeps them out of trouble. These activities are as much a part of our children growing to be responsible adults as are the teachers.

People say that only property owners feel the effect. Again not true, I was a renter for a long time in Bonner County and every time property taxes went up, so did my rent.
