State politicians should stop pandering

Never say never!
The Idaho Legislature seems to have great difficulty with that simple lesson.
In 2006, they offered the voters a constitutional amendment to prohibit both same-sex marriage and civil unions in the face of a wave of change that will likely overturn that amendment within a generation.
On Monday, the Senate overwhelmingly passed a concurrent resolution opposing legalization of marijuana in Idaho for any purpose. This in light of recent votes in Colorado and Washington to legalize pot along with clear medical evidence of marijuana’s efficacy in treating glaucoma and discomfort from some cancer treatments.
Wouldn’t it be better to do nothing rather than pander? Will politicians never learn?
