SANDPOINT — A preliminary hearing is pending for a Rathdrum woman accused of trafficking methamphetamine.

The hearing to determine if there’s enough evidence to justify trying Jackie Lee Green is set for March 13 in Bonner County Magistrate Court. She is free on bond while the case is pending.

Green, 38, was charged after a routine traffic stop on Highway 41 in Blanchard blossomed into a felony drug investigation in January. Green was stopped for speeding and a drug-sniffing K-9 was brought to check the vehicle.

The dog alerted and Green was searched. A meth pipe was found in under her seat and approximately 3 ounces — roughly 85 grams — of meth was discovered in her jacket, according to the arrest report. At the time of her arrest, the street value of the stimulant was pegged at about $8,500.

Green was also charged with possession of a concealed weapon after a spring-loaded, double-edged knife was discovered in her purse, court records indicate.
