Cox, Burgstahler lead Bulldogs in season opener

SPOKANE — Freshman Wyatt Cox (45.00) finished 6th in the 300 hurdles and junior Matthew Burgstahler 6th in the 800 (2:05), leading the Sandpoint track team during the season opener on Saturday at West Valley High School.
Tim Prummer finished 9th in the 400 (54.93) and Chase Rodriguez 12th in the 100 (12.18) to round out the Bulldog boys, who finished 12th as a team.
Maddie Suppiger was 9th in the 100 hurdles (18.61) and 12th in the high jump (4-8), and Mikhaela Woodward was 13th in the 3,200 and 14th in the 800 for the Bulldog girls. Sandpoint only took an abbreviated team to the early season meet.
The Bulldogs are at Coeur d’Alene today at 3 p.m.
