Currie fires 83 in opener

LEWISTON — David Currie shot an 83 to lead the Bulldog golfers on Monday at the season opener in Lewiston.

Jared Presnell (93), Christian Cook (100) and Nate Lunde (104) helped the Bulldogs shoot 381, 40 strokes better than the first match of last season.

Katelynn McConnell (116) and Anna Aylward (131) led the girls team during windy and cold conditions.

“For the first time out, I was impressed,” said head coach Tom Tharp. “The scores will get lower and lower as time goes by. That was our first time on grass, hats off to them (players).”

Sandpoint is at Post Falls on Monday.
