POST FALLS — David Currie posted a sizzling 77 to lead the Sandpoint golf team on Monday at the Post Falls Invitational at the Prarie Falls Golf Club.

Jared Presnell shot 92, Nate Lunde 99, Noah Faude 101 and Tyson Bird 117 as the Bulldogs shot a 367 as a team, an improvement of 16 strokes from the season opener in Lewiston.

“We’re trending down and I’m happy about that,” said Bulldogs head coach Tom Tharp, lauding the play of Currie early in the season. “Things are looking good for him.”

Katelynn McConnell shot her best round ever, carding a 112 for the Sandpoint girls team.

“She’s been working hard and has a good head on her shoulders,” said Tharp. “I’m hoping she’ll be under 100 soon.”

Lakeland’s Derek Bayley won medalist honors with a 73. Amy Hasenoehrl of Lewiston was the girls medalist with a 75.

The teams are back in action after spring break at the Moscow Invitational at the University of Idaho course on April 8.
