Mining has no place in region's mountains

As a resident of Libby, Mont., I understand, painfully, the damage irresponsible mining does to communities. Our public health has been seriously compromised and our economic health has been devastated. At least our mountain tops have been left alone, so far.
We must urge our congressional representatives to oppose mining in and on our beautiful mountains. Those who complain that mining is over regulated should remember that regulation would not be necessary at all if someone had not already violated the rules of human decency.
