Bulldogs swept by Bengals

LEWISTON — With almost zero practice time, the Bulldog baseball team faced a tall order against perennial 5A power Lewiston on Tuesday, falling 15-0 and 24-4 in a nonleague doubleheader at Lewiston High School.

Quinn Pearlstein stole two bases and had the only hit for the Bulldogs (0-3) in the opener, as the Bengals blew open a close game with a 10-run third inning.

“We did get better from the West Valley game, but we still have a long way to go,” said Bulldogs coach Chris Young, who is hoping his team can finally get some outdoor practice time. “It will be a trial by fire for a little bit.”

Zac Farrell had a hit and scored two runs, and Nik Feyen had the other hit as the Bulldogs lost 25-4 in the nightcap. Both games were called after five innings due to the 10 run rule.

Sandpoint will look to take a step forward today at Post Falls.
