Alamillo, Woodward, Levora notch wins in Post Falls
POST FALLS — A trio of Bulldogs won events to lead the Sandpoint boys and girls teams to sixth place finishes among the eight teams at the Christina Finney Relays track meet at Post Falls High School on Thursday.
Reigning state champion Nikole Alamillo threw 113-0 to win the discus, Mikhaela Woodward clocked a 12:23 to win the 3,200 and Sam Levora doubled up to win both the 3,200 and 1,600, clocking 9:55 and 4:27, respectively. Alamillo was also third in the shot put (33-3) and Woodward sixth in the 1,600 in 5:35.
The Bulldogs sent a complete team to a varsity meet for the first time all year, and two other Bulldogs claimed top three finishes, as Matthew Burgstahler clocked a 2:03 to finish second in the 800 and Tim Prummer rounded the track in 52.7 in the 400 to finish third.
Other top 10 finishes from the Bulldog boys included Todd Pays, who finished fourth in the discus (128-04), Mark Kennally fourth in the high jump (5-10) and eighth in the 400 (55.4), Alex Charvoz fifth in the 100 (11.7), Charvoz, Chase Rodriguez, Chris Turnbull and Tyler Harris fifth in the 4x200, Josh Loutzenhiser seventh in the shot put (40-3), and Charvoz, Rodriguez, Turnbull and Cody Millard finished eighth in the 4x100 relay.
Other top 10 finishes for the Bulldog girls included Megan McCoy, who was fifth in the shot (31-9) and eighth in the discus (88-06), Mary Aylward, Rebecca Klopman-Boerselman, Madi Schoening and Courtney Rust teamed up to finish fifth in the 4x100, Rust was sixth in the high jump (4-6), Lani Wahl sixth in the long jump (14-9), Jennie Meulenberg sixth in the triple jump (31-0), Cassie Young was seventh in the discus (91-02), Maddie Suppiger seventh in the 100 hurdles (17.3), Emily Marshall ninth in the 1,600 (6:00) and Aylward 10th in the 100 (14.04).
The Bulldogs will host the Sandpoint Invitational on April 9, their lone home meet of the season.
