Feyen hits home run in Sandpoint loss to Trojans

POST FALLS — Sophomore Ryan Hunt struck out 12 in five innings, and also went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, as 5A Post Falls defeated Sandpoint 13-2 in five innings on Thursday.

Nik Feyen led the Sandpoint offense with a solo home run in the third inning, and Justin Puryear and Zac Farrell each had a hit as the Bulldogs (0-4) are still searching for some early season offense. Farrell and Quinn Pearlstein each had two stolen bases in defeat for Sandpoint.

Matt Hammond went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, including a two-run double in an eight-run third inning, for Post Falls (2-2). Jeremy Scherer also hit a two-run double for the Trojans.

Sandpoint plays a doubleheader at Coeur d’Alene today.
