Bears take down Bulldogs

MOSCOW — Justin Puryear, Nik Feyen and Nate Stangel each banged out two hits in the opener, but the Bulldogs could manage only two first inning runs in a 12-2 loss to Moscow in a 4A Inland Empire League baseball doubleheader on Tuesday at Moscow High School.

The Bulldogs (0-17, 0-7 4A IEL) strung together nine hits in the opener, Zac Farrell and Stangel each stole a base, and freshman Paul Sundquist struck out four and went the distance in defeat.

Results for the second game were unavailable at press time.

The No. 2 seed Bears (6-9, 3-4 4A IEL) will face No. 3 seed Sandpoint in the 4A Region 1 tournament opener on Saturday in Lakeland.
