As a traveling salesman in the 1970s, a roaming hippie in the 1980s and as a restless retiree, I’ve stayed in hundreds of placed. I’m not sure if Sandpoint is the friendliest town in North America but when the subject comes up, I’m sure your little town is mentioned in the top three. I would describe Sandpoint as outrageously friendly and sublimely pretentious.
Old people, young kids, even hot chicks (which are not uncommon here), smile at this very large Alaskan who left his teeth at home. I only planned out staying two days but I’ve been here almost a week. Every postcard I mail out ends with “put this place on your must-visit list.” Thanks for your hospitality.
