You can't sugarcoat POAC's need for help
Thanks to Cameron Rasmusson and the Bee for the front page article published Wednesday, May 8. The board of directors of Pend Oreille Arts Council is eager to get the word out and hopefully find businesses and individuals who want to make sure the programs they’ve come to know and love aren’t discontinued.
POAC’s mission goes beyond entertainment. Its objective is to bring both visual and performing arts to the youth in our community. Each of our programs has an educational aspect and frankly, those are in jeopardy right now.
What you may not know is that more than 20,000 people each and every year attend a function that POAC sponsored.
In our schools, close to 5,000 students participate in either attending a world-class professional performance (Ovations) or learning how to create original artwork in our elementary school Kaleidoscope program in which we partner with CAL.
Think about what a summer would be without Artwalk or the Arts and Crafts fair. Think about a Christmas without the Nutcracker. POAC doesn’t want to cut any more programs, we’ve already shortened our performing arts season. We’d rather expand and be more innovative and diverse.
Stop by to see our new art gallery and office at 302 N. First Avenue. Donations can be remitted online www.artinsandpoint.org and none is too small. Further, we would welcome an opportunity to meet with you to discuss how we can tailor a sponsorship package that meets your business goals and expectations.
