SHS golf team announces awards

SANDPOINT — Junior David Currie, who fulfilled his goal of playing in state, was named Most Valuable Golfer, and Anna Aylward, the lone senior on the team, was named Captain at the Sandpoint golf team’s Letterman Awards banquet recently at the Elks Golf Course.

“David had a great year and did well at state,” said Bulldogs head coach Tom Tharp, whose entire boys varsity returns. “I’m looking forward to next season, and practicing this summer at the Idaho Club.”

Also winning awards were: Ms. Independence, Katelynn McConnell; Team Spirit Award, Ellie Faulkner-Monks; Best Attitude, Sage Martin; Best Jokes, Nate Lunde; Most Responsible, Christian Cook; Most Potential, Noah Faude; Most Dedicated, Jerod Presnell.

Tharp wished to thank Tyson Bird, who put the banquet together.
