Doesn't anyone care about the smoke?

| November 7, 2013 6:00 AM

Doesn’t anybody care about air quality lately? With all the fight we all put up against grass burning in our community, this time of year is enough to send you indoors. As soon as the ban is lifted from burning, every slash pile, burn pile and grass clipping pile gets lit. Doesn’t anybody compost or shred their clippings? We know there is no fighting the Forest Service or small logging companies.

With the high pressure that has been holding over us, we should have been enjoying the clear skies and enjoying the fall sunshine as soon as that fog lifted, instead we were breathing stagnant air filled with smoke trapped in the fog pushing it down on us. I’m choking. I never thought I would say bring on the rain, clean the air. I can’t breathe.
