Find out the facts on different protein types

| November 14, 2013 6:00 AM

This is in response to the article on the Health page of the Nov. 6, 2013, Daily Bee by certified advanced rolfer Owen Marcus, M.A., titled “Lose weight and get strong — eat some meat.” Please do not believe everything that you read from quote “experts” such as Mr. Marcus. What he has presented is incredibly not scientific. Please do not take my word on this. Do some critical examination and judge for yourself. I would suggest that you check out any one of very many videos on YouTube under vegan body builders, vegan fighters, vegan athletes, and especially vegan calisthenics. Ladies, you may especially like the latter one.

For some accurate scientific information, please check out just a little of the thoroughly researched information on the website www.PCRM.org — the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Responsible medical advice is really what I would like to see presented by Owen Marcus, and on the Health pages of the Daily Bee.

Again, please don’t take my word on this, but do some checking out of your own. The YouTube videos are quite entertaining and inspiring, as well as informative. Eat meat if you choose, but don’t claim it is for muscle building or repair until after you have watched some of these videos.

Final thought — Where do elephants and draft horses get their protein for such powerful muscles from?
