Candidate is viable choice to fill seat

| November 19, 2013 6:00 AM

Now that the election is over, it’s time for Mayor Marsha Ogilvie to fill the vacancy on the City Council left by Aaron Qualls’ move to the Planning Department.

Rather than choose one of her friends, who may only have a passing interest in serving, the voters have teed up an obvious candidate for the job.

Bill Litsinger showed high interest in the job by putting himself through the electoral process and finishing just out of the money in a respectable fourth place. Nearly 40 percent of those voting supported him, which makes him an easy viable choice for the mayor.
