Motorist hurt in U.S. 95 crash
SAGLE — A Sandpoint man was injured in a collision on the Long Bridge on Sunday morning.
Idaho State Police said Jay D. Armstrong was northbound on U.S. Highway 95 when he crossed over the center line for unspecified reasons and crashed into a southbound sport utility vehicle.
Armstrong, 34, was not wearing a seat belt, according to ISP. He was taken to Kootenai Health hospital in Coeur d’Alene, where he was listed in good condition on Monday afternoon.
Charles C. Fedorko, 33, also of Sandpoint, was wearing a seat belt when Armstrong’s 1984 Toyota pickup crashed into the 1987 Ford Bronco he was driving. Fedorko, state police said, was not injured in the collision.
The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. near the south end of the bridge.
The highway and the bridge were blocked for about two and half hours, according to ISP.
