| November 26, 2013 6:00 AM

MULLAN — Annie Wurm and Alicia Heigis each had big games in the paint, but it wasn’t enough, as the Wampus Cats lost 48-34 to Kootenai in the consolation game of the season-opening North Star League Tournament on Saturday at the Mullan Pavilion.

Wurm posted 13 points and eight rebounds, while Heigis tallied the exact opposite with eight points and 13 boards to lead the Wampus Cats (0-2).

“They both had really strong games,” said Cats head coach Mark Stevens of his bigs.

Lyndsie Kiebert added seven points and three assists, Leslie Kiebert four points and Callie Potter two in defeat.

Clark Fork gets a break in the schedule and some extra practice time before hosting Cusick on Dec. 3 in a nonleague home opener.
