PONDERAY — A bank account has been established at Spokane Teachers Credit Union to help a recently widowed Sagle woman rebuild after a fire destroyed her home and nearly all of her possessions.

The benefit account number is 306211 and is in the name of Linda Nelson.

There is a STCU branch in Bonner County at 477181 U.S. Highway 95 North in Ponderay. The lobby is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The branch’s toll-free phone number is (800) 858-3750.

Nelson’s modified mobile home on Hawthorne Drive was gutted by a structure fire on Nov. 20. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Sagle Fire District officials.

Nelson lost all but a handful of her possessions in the blaze, which also claimed the lives of three of her dogs and three of her cats.

In addition to monetary donations, family members said building materials can be directed toward 1(800) BoardUp.
