SANDPOINT — There’s just one day left in America’s Transportation Award voting.

A contest put on by the American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the award comes with a $10,000 grand prize.

Online voting for the award continues until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday. Individuals can vote up to 10 times a day.

The Sand Creek Byway, one of 10 projects vying for the award, had a slim lead heading into the contest’s final days.

If the project wins, the proceeds will be donated to North Idaho Bikeways, a nonprofit that links the Greater Sandpoint area with a network of bicycle and pedestrian trails.

Voting is open through Oct. 2. People can cast up to 10 votes a day by going to http://americastransportationawards.org.
